Does side sewer have slope: Most of the line does, 1% grade on side sewer
Depth of side sewer 10ft from house: 6' 4"
Depth of side sewer at proposed B/W valve installation spot) NA
Any additional comments:
• Only risk I see is the garage floor drain in driveway
Problems Identified
1) Driveway drain is tied to downspouts will back up sewage if backwater valve is
closed. Drain is outside.
Outside area drain
Solution A: Install a check valve on the drain so that water cannot flow back out of the
drain
Solution B: Install a sump pump for this to drain to and route discharge of sump pump to
yard, or downstream of backwater valve on side sewer.
2) Previous downspout lines are tied into side sewer. The current downspouts discharge
to ground, rather than tying into the old lines. However, the previous piping is still in the
ground, not capped, and could let sewage overflow to the ground in a surcharge event.
Solution: Fill or cap old downspout lines. Verify that fix does not impact outside area
drain.
As-Built of Sewer and Plumbing
See attached drawing.
Comments
All gutter lines to ground should slope away from building and extend 3 feet min.
