Any additional comments:
The backwater valve will be installed on the line that runs out of the east side (back) of
the house as this line has the floor drain and sink connected to it. The second line that
runs out of the house on the north side only conveys water from the upstairs portion of
the house. The backwater valve will be placed in the back yard close to where the two
lines connect as this will give the line needing protection and some storage capacity
during a surcharge event.
Problems Identified
1) Problem: Basement area is not protected from a surcharge event.
Solution: Install backwater valve in lawn area indicated on the attached map.
2) Problem: floor drain line does not drain freely and is inclined to backup during
high flow times of internal water usage.
Solution: Have line cleaned. Also either clean the floor drain pea trap or replace it
with an accessible one.
As-Built of Sewer and Plumbing
See attached drawing.
Comments
Side sewer is full of small roots that have the potential to cause a blockage in the near
future. Recommend clearing the roots with a root treatment product.
Additional Photos and Descriptions
