Also stated in"Plumbing,Sewer and Drainage <br /> Investigation Report"that was included with ref: (3)the figure 25 feet was not included, "approximately <br /> 10 feet"was stated. Ref: (3) included a report from Mibre Plumbing Company that tested my system <br /> and found it operated correctly. The Sewage Ejector pump that I currently have is rated 50 gpm @ <br /> head of 10 feet,which is the rise coming out of my tank. I agree that the city has an inferior sewer <br /> system capability unable to meet demands of excessive water dispersal as noted in ref: (1)and we the <br /> citizens have to protect our personal property from future damage. Therefore, I plan to increase the <br /> size of my sewage pump but first I would like Public Works to demonstrate their statistics on how they <br /> arrived at the figures they list. With sewer water backed up against my backflow valve, how much <br /> head pressure is needed to overpower a full sewer line backup at the point where my sewage ejector <br /> line intersects the sewer line? This figure will be needed to determine how large a sewage ejector <br /> pump I will purchase. <br /> Item 2)in ref:(1)suggested blocking the basement patio drain going to my sewage tank and installing a <br /> sump pump in the patio, pumping water collection out into the yard. That is not a viable option. Last <br /> week our neighborhood lost electrical power for approximately 2 hours. If it had been raining, and I <br /> had a sump pump,there would have been a wading pool with water entering my basement over the <br /> basement door threshold. <br /> The old adage"you can't fight city hall," plus an inferior city sewer system that I have been paying for at <br /> this location for 34 years, I understand that I have to protect my property from future city sewer water <br /> damage.
