Due to the increasing consumer price index (currently 8.1%), the <br />contract settlement costs are estimated to be $717,000. A future budget amendment <br />may be needed to address the $387,000 difference. <br />Project summary statement: <br />The current collective bargaining agreement between the City and ATU expired on <br />December 31, 2021. ATU membership voted and approved the proposed contract. <br />Highlights of the successor agreement include: <br />Three-year agreement <br />Wage adjustment: 4.5% in 2022 <br />Market adjustment payment ($1,500) for all members upon ratification (does not add to <br />base wage) <br />Market adjustment payment ($1500) or 40 hours vacation in December 2022 (does not <br />add to base wage) <br />.25 cents per hour for PT Operators each year of contract <br />.25 cents per hour for Bus Maintenance employees in 2022 only <br />Wage adjustment for 2023 and 2024 will be 100% of CPI for June to June with a <br />minimum of 2.5% and a maximum of 4.25% <br />Additional transparency language added for management to add additional video on <br />buses. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Authorize the Mayor to sign the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City and <br />the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU)Division No. 883 for 2022-2024. <br />
