ORDINANCE NO. 3184 AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of State Street from Hewitt Avenue to 19th Street and 26th Street from Walnut Street to Summit Avenue by paving the same with an asphaltic concrete pavement and including as a part of said work the construction or reconstruction of all sewers, side sewers, water mains and hydrants with necessary appurtenances; the construction or reconstruction of concrete curbs and gutters where necessary; the construction or reconstruction of concrete sidewalks where necessary, except that no sidewalks will be constructed on State Street from 20th Street tol9th Street, by such grading or regrading as may be necessary and by doing such other work as may be necessary in connection there- with to make a complete improvement, all in accordance with Resolution No, 5288 of the City of Everett; creating a local improvement district; creating a local improvement district fund therefor; providing that fifty per cent (50%) of the cost of that portion of the improvement involving grading, construction of surfacing and pavement and engineering expenses and advertising shall be paid by funds from the Washington State Development Board, the remaining cost shall be borne by and assessed against the property liable therefore as provided by law. WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 5288 , the City Council of the City of Everett has declared its intention to order the improvement as above outlined, and doing all work in connection therewith to ma<.e a complete improvement in accordance with the plans and specifications as prepared by the City Engineer of the City of Everett. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That State Street from Hewitt Avenue to 19th Street and 26th Street from Walnut Street to Summit Avenue be paved with an asphaltic concrete pavement and including as a part of said work the construction or reconstruction of all sewers, side sewers, water mains and hydrants with necessary appurtenances; the construction or reconstruction of concrete curbs and gutters where necessary; the construction or reconstruction of concrete sidewalks where necessary, except that no sidewalks will be constructed on State Street from 20th Street to 19th Street, by such grading or regrading as may be necessary and by doing such other work as may be necessary in connection therewith to make a complete improvement, all accord- ing to the plans and specifications prepared under the direction of the City Engineer and which plans and specifications are hereby adopted and approved. Section 2: That the cost and expense of such improvement including all necessary and incidental expenses, shall be borne as follows: Fifty per cent of the cost of that portion of the improve- ment involving grading, construction of surfacing and pavement and engineering expenses and advertising shall be paid by funds from the Washington State Development Board, the remaining cost shall be borne by and assessed against the property liable therefore as provided by law. -1-
