ORDINANCE NO. 3184 <br /> AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of State Street <br /> from Hewitt Avenue to 19th Street and 26th Street from Walnut Street <br /> to Summit Avenue by paving the same with an asphaltic concrete <br /> pavement and including as a part of said work the construction or <br /> reconstruction of all sewers, side sewers, water mains and hydrants <br /> with necessary appurtenances; the construction or reconstruction of <br /> concrete curbs and gutters where necessary; the construction or <br /> reconstruction of concrete sidewalks where necessary, except that <br /> no sidewalks will be constructed on State Street from 20th Street <br /> tol9th Street, by such grading or regrading as may be necessary and <br /> by doing such other work as may be necessary in connection there- <br /> with to make a complete improvement, all in accordance with Resolution <br /> No, 5288 of the City of Everett; creating a local improvement <br /> district; creating a local improvement district fund therefor; <br /> providing that fifty per cent (50%) of the cost of that portion of <br /> the improvement involving grading, construction of surfacing and <br /> pavement and engineering expenses and advertising shall be paid by <br /> funds from the Washington State Development Board, the remaining <br /> cost shall be borne by and assessed against the property liable <br /> therefore as provided by law. <br /> WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 5288 , the City Council of the <br /> City of Everett has declared its intention to order the improvement <br /> as above outlined, and doing all work in connection therewith to <br /> ma<.e a complete improvement in accordance with the plans and <br /> specifications as prepared by the City Engineer of the City of Everett. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That State Street from Hewitt Avenue to 19th <br /> Street and 26th Street from Walnut Street to Summit Avenue be paved <br /> with an asphaltic concrete pavement and including as a part of said <br /> work the construction or reconstruction of all sewers, side sewers, <br /> water mains and hydrants with necessary appurtenances; the construction <br /> or reconstruction of concrete curbs and gutters where necessary; <br /> the construction or reconstruction of concrete sidewalks where <br /> necessary, except that no sidewalks will be constructed on State <br /> Street from 20th Street to 19th Street, by such grading or regrading <br /> as may be necessary and by doing such other work as may be necessary <br /> in connection therewith to make a complete improvement, all accord- <br /> ing to the plans and specifications prepared under the direction of <br /> the City Engineer and which plans and specifications are hereby <br /> adopted and approved. <br /> Section 2: That the cost and expense of such improvement <br /> including all necessary and incidental expenses, shall be borne <br /> as follows: <br /> Fifty per cent of the cost of that portion of the improve- <br /> ment involving grading, construction of surfacing and pavement and <br /> engineering expenses and advertising shall be paid by funds from the <br /> Washington State Development Board, the remaining cost shall be <br /> borne by and assessed against the property liable therefore as <br /> provided by law. <br /> -1- <br />
