• ify ORDINANCE No. 3154 . AN ORDINANCE levying the general taxes for the City of Everett for the fiscal year commencing January 1, 1948, on all taxable property, both real and personal , in said City subject to taxation thereon , for the purpose of raising sufficient revenue to carry on the different departments of said City for the ensuing year as required by the Charter of the City of Everett and the laws of the State of Washington; prescribing and apportioning the same into the different funds of said City for the fiscal year, and providing for the collection thereof. WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Everett duly and regularly adopted, as required by law, the estimate of the amounts reouired to meet the public expense of said City for the ensuing year, and the amounts to be raised by taxation in said City for said ensuing year from sources other than direct taxation ; and WHEREAS, notice that said City Council tentatively completed the budget for the year 1948, and that a copy of said budget would be furnished any taxpayer of the City of Everett on application therefor , and that the City Council of said City would meet in the Council Chamber of the City Hall at 10:00 o'clock A.M. . on the 6th day of October, 1947, for the purpose of fixing the final budget and designating the tax levy, and that any taxpayer might appear thereat and be heard for or against any part of said budget, was published in the official newspaper in all respects as reouired by law; and WHEREAS, the City Council did on the 6th day of October , 1947, meet in the Council Chamber for said purpose and did continue the hearing on said budget from day to day to the 10th day of £t October, 194 7, for the purpose aforesaid, and having heard all persons appearing in favor of or against said proposed levy, did then and there make, determine and decide the amount of taxes to be placed upon the current assessment roll to be in the sum of $327,771.73 . NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That there be , and hereby is levied upon real and personal property in the City of Everett , subject to taxation thereon, a general property tax for municipal purposes for the ensuing year, commencing on January 1 , 1948, in the sum of PI 327,771.73 . Section 2: That said taxes shall be apportioned to the various funds of said City for the year 1948, as follows: General Current Expense Fund $ 221,948.29 Park Fund 37,459.63 Judgment and Claims Fund 2,809.47 General Water Bond No. 2, Sinking Fund 28,094.72 General Water Bond No. 2, Interest Fund 18,729.81 Firemen' s Relief and Pension Fund 18,729.81 TOTAL 327,771.73
