I <br /> 1 COE INTRO.RTF <br /> 2 3 INTRODUCTION TO THE SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 4 <br /> 5 (December 10, 2020 APWA GSP) <br /> 6 <br /> 7 The work on this project shall be accomplished in accordance with the Standard Specifications <br /> 8 for Road, Bridge and Municipal Construction, 2022 edition, as issued by the Washington State <br /> 9 Department of Transportation (WSDOT)and the American Public Works Association (APWA), <br /> 10 Washington State Chapter (hereafter "Standard Specifications"). The Standard <br /> 11 Specifications, as modified or supplemented by these Special Provisions, all of which are <br /> 12 made a part of the Contract Documents, shall govern all of the Work. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 These Special Provisions are made up of both General Special Provisions (GSPs) from <br /> 15 various sources, which may have project-specific fill-ins; and project-specific Special <br /> 16 Provisions. Each Provision either supplements, modifies, or replaces the comparable <br /> 17 Standard Specification, or is a new Provision. The deletion, amendment, alteration, or addition <br /> 18 to any subsection or portion of the Standard Specifications is meant to pertain only to that <br /> 19 particular portion of the section, and in no way should it be interpreted that the balance of the <br /> 20 section does not apply. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 The project-specific Special Provisions are not labeled as such. The GSPs are labeled under <br /> 23 the headers of each GSP, with the effective date of the GSP and its source. For example: <br /> 24 <br /> 25 (March 8, 2013 APWA GSP) <br /> 26 (April 1, 2013 WSDOT GSP) <br /> 27 (May 1, 2013 City of Everett GSP) <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Also incorporated into the Contract Documents by reference are: <br /> 30 • Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways, currently <br /> 31 adopted edition, with Washington State modifications, if any <br /> 32 • Standard Plans for Road, Bridge and Municipal Construction, WSDOT/APWA, current <br /> 33 edition <br /> 34 • Design and Construction Standards & Specifications for Development, City of Everett, <br /> 35 current edition <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Contractor shall obtain copies of these publications, at Contractor's own expense. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> 2022 PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE OVERLAY PAGE 1 OF 85 SPECIALS <br /> WORK ORDER 3764 FEBRUARY 23,2022 <br />
