Keep the Steel Base <br /> Lightning Plate <br /> finished surfaces free of hand prints and excess lubricants. Ground Spike *Supplied by others <br /> Align the arrows and/or numbers on each section and jamb <br /> together. Numbers must be identical for proper fit. <br /> 5. Lay pole on sawhorses and unwrap top of pole, access door and the bottom 3-4'. The remainder of the <br /> wrappings can be removed after pole is set. This will keep pole clean of marks and fingerprints. <br /> 6. Take loose end of rope halyard, thread over sheave in truck from the outside and then through the <br /> pulley bracket mounted on slot at top of pole. Now fish loose end of rope down inside the pole to <br /> vicinity of access door. Open access door with key, thread rope end through cam cleat from top and tie <br /> off end of rope in an overhand or figure eight knot. <br /> 7. While pulling slack out of rope to avoid pinching, place truck on top of pole, aligning horn and sheave <br /> with slot and fasten securely by turning down set screws tightly to the pole. Thread ball rod into <br /> threaded hole in top of truck, screwing down tightly until ball will no longer turn. <br /> 8. Take up other end of rope with counterweight attached. Detach one end of retainer ring from split repair <br /> link, run retainer ring around pole and reattach end to repair link. Close repair link using vice-grip or <br /> hammer.Tape retainer ring counterweight assembly temporarily to the pole above access door, out of <br /> the way while setting pole. <br /> 9. Slip aluminum flash collar on bottom of pole; slide up above setting height and tape temporarily to pole <br /> while setting the pole. <br /> 10.Set pole into sleeve and center on steel wedges in sleeve.Turn pole so that truck and access door <br /> face in the desired direction. Place wood wedges between pole and sleeve to hold pole upright and <br /> plumb pole for final set. <br /> 11. Pack dry sand between pole and sleeve to hold pole in place. Leave 1"void at top and fill with <br /> waterproof cement or caulking sealant to keep water out of the sand. <br /> 12.Slip aluminum collar down onto concrete and caulk between collar and pole with urethane sealant. <br /> Remove rest of wrapping from pole. <br /> 13.Loosen rope loop around highest flag snap, move on rope until flag snaps fit the size of the flag <br /> being flown. Fasten flag to flag snaps, check operation by pulling rope halyard to raise flag and <br /> counterweight. Pull rope sideways behind cam to hold flag at the peak.To release flag, pull rope <br /> sideways from cam and pull on the rope.After checking operation, lock access door and turn key over <br /> to owner. <br /> CAUTION: IF FLAGPOLE IS NOT TO BE INSTALLED IMMEDIATELY, REMOVE PROTECTIVE <br /> WRAPPING AND SET POLE ON BLOCKS AT LEAST 12"ABOVE GRADE. THE FACTORY CANNOT <br /> ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FINISH IF POLE IS STORED IN ITS WRAPPINGS.THE PAPER <br /> WILL DISCOLOR THE POLE IF THEY GET WET. <br /> Rev.6/2015 <br />
