Please include the original application in your
submittal and detail out what is included in the re-roof. Please reference our Permitting Procedures During Temporary
Office Closure policy(PDF)for instructions on dropping off permit applications and issuance.
The plans should address the following:
1. Indicate if there is an existing layer of roofing to be left in place. This is required to follow the IEBC.This
document has limitation on when the roofing can be covered, and only allows one layer to be covered. If more
than one layer are present, both must be removed (not just the top one).
2. If the insulation, or the roof cavity, are exposed, the roof must be insulated as required by the code.
3. If structural sheathing is being replaced due to damage,we will typically allow up to 5%of the roof area to be
replaced in-kind. If the replacement is substantial, this may require a more substantial permit submittal so we
can review for stuctural impacts.
4. New structural materials(e.g., new sheathing over existing sheathing, etc.) cannot be added without a structural
evaluation.
Terri Jorgenson
am
1111.
