<br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3131 .
<br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Sections 101 and 102 of Ordinance
<br /> No. 2513 of the City of Everett, which Ordinance is entitled as
<br /> follows:
<br /> "An ordinance relating to, and providing for, the
<br /> licensing and regulating of certain occupations, businesses,
<br /> vocations, trades , callings, amusements, places or amusements,
<br /> exhibitions, entertainments, ani .als, motor venicles, places and
<br /> establishments; defining offenses, providing penalties; providing
<br /> Ior the revocation and suspension of licenses, repealing ordinances
<br /> No. 2196 , 853, 1301, 1503, 1583, 1585, 1595, 1771, 1851, 1932,
<br /> 1941, 1948, 1964, 2087, 2182, 2249, 2333, 2370 and 2038, end all
<br /> other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict therewith."
<br /> THE CITY OF E'VERETT DOES ORDAiiv :
<br /> Section 1: That Section 101 of ordinance No. 2513
<br /> of the City of Everett be and it is hereby amended to read as
<br /> r'oliows:
<br /> Section 101: No person, association, co-partnership
<br /> or corporation shall hold any public dance without first ob-
<br /> taining a permit from the Commissioner of Safety and a license
<br /> from the City Clerk. A license shall be issued by the City
<br /> Clerk upon the payment of the sum of 02.50 and shall grant to
<br /> the applicant the right to have a dance on a specific date at
<br /> a time and place set forth therein. Such shall , however, not
<br /> be issued unless first a permit is granted by the Commissioner
<br /> of Public Safety. An applicant may secure an annual license
<br /> for the purpose of conducting public dances by the payment of
<br /> a fee of w 100.00 ; however, the applicant shall not conduct
<br /> any dance unless a permit is secured from the Commissioner of
<br /> Public Safety for each and every dance. The license issued
<br /> shall be for a stated location and shall not be transferable .
<br /> No person, association, co-partnership or cor_-oration shall
<br /> conduct or maintain dance halls or dancing schools, or any other
<br /> place where dancing is conducted, as provided in this ordi-
<br /> nance , without first obtaining permission from the Commissioner
<br /> of Safety and a license so to do from the City Clerk as provided
<br /> in this ordinance.
<br /> Section 2 : That Section 102 of Ordinance No. 2513
<br /> of the City of Everett be and it is hereby amended to read as
<br /> follows:
<br /> Section 102 : There shall be levied in addition to
<br /> all other levies herein set forth, a license fee and tax for the
<br /> privilege of having a public dance hall . Such license fee and
<br /> tax shall be as follows:
<br /> If the floor space to be actually used for
<br /> dancing does not exceed 2500 square feet, $15.00 per year,
<br /> payable in adVence.
