The total potential cost will not exceed $2,031,342.00. The Triple Combination <br />Pumper trucks are budgeted in 2022 vehicle replacement fund. However, due to build <br />time, the expense will not be realized until 2024. <br />Project summary statement: <br />Proposals were requested from fire truck manufacturers to provide two (2) triple <br />combination Type 1 fire engines that will replace J0064 and 10069 which are 2003 <br />American LaFrance Type 1 fire engines. <br />The City of Everett Fire Department has a total of eleven (11) fire engines, six (6) six of <br />which are in service 24/7 and five (5) are held in reserve to fill in for breakdowns and <br />maintenance and training. There is always one fire engine at every Everett fire station. All <br />engines are equipped with a fire pump, a 500-gallon water tank, a foam system, a monitor, <br />and a large complement of fire hoses for fire attack, exposure protection, and water <br />supply. Engines also carry ground ladders, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), <br />forcible entry and extrication tools, first aid equipment, a variety of hose appliances, and <br />assorted other equipment and tools. The crew of an engine company usually consists of <br />an officer, driver/engineer, and a firefighter. <br />The Request for Proposal was released on April 15, 2022. It was advertised in the Everett <br />Herald. Additionally, seven companies were directly notified about the opportunity. On <br />June 7, 2022, one proposal was received from Hughes Fire Equipment. Hughes' proposal <br />response received a score of 408 out of 550 possible points. Staff is requesting an award <br />to Hughes Fire Equipment. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Award Request for Proposal #2022-023 Triple Combination Pumpers to Hughes Fire <br />Equipment in the amount of $2,031,342.00, including Washington State sales tax. <br />
