Sullivan Playground Replacement <br />Fund: Fund 354, Program 077 (CIP-3) <br />Fiscal summary statement: <br />The final reading for the funding of this project is requested to be approved by City <br />Council, on July 20, 2022, which created a special improvement project titled "Thornton <br />A. Sullivan Playground Replacement" Fund 354, Program 077, to accumulate all costs for <br />the project. <br />Project summary statement: <br />Thornton A. Sullivan Park is celebrating its 100-year anniversary. The current playground <br />was added as a vital park amenity in 1997 and has since become one of the most used <br />and beloved playgrounds in the city. <br />The playground is now 25 years old and exceeds the City of Everett Park's life -cycle <br />standard of 15 years. The Parks & Facilities Department intends to construct a new <br />playground to replace the existing equipment and update the playground to current <br />industry standards. <br />The quotation provided by Landscape Structures, Inc. includes all playground equipment <br />and installation services, including all products and surfacing. <br />The equipment and labor are available for purchase from Landscape Structures, Inc. <br />through the King County Directors' Association (KCDA) competitively bid contract #22- <br />315/City of Everett #2022-069. The City has an Interlocal cooperative purchasing <br />agreement with KCDA that allows for purchases from its competitively awarded <br />contracts in lieu of soliciting bids on our own. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Award and authorize purchase of playground equipment and installation with Landscape <br />Structures, Inc. from King County Directors' Association #22-315/City of Everett #2022- <br />069 in the amount of $1,131,307.91 including Washington state sales tax. <br />
