Sullivan Playground Replacement Fund: Fund 354, Program 077 (CIP-3) Fiscal summary statement: The final reading for the funding of this project is requested to be approved by City Council, on July 20, 2022, which created a special improvement project titled "Thornton A. Sullivan Playground Replacement" Fund 354, Program 077, to accumulate all costs for the project. Project summary statement: Thornton A. Sullivan Park is celebrating its 100-year anniversary. The current playground was added as a vital park amenity in 1997 and has since become one of the most used and beloved playgrounds in the city. The playground is now 25 years old and exceeds the City of Everett Park's life -cycle standard of 15 years. The Parks & Facilities Department intends to construct a new playground to replace the existing equipment and update the playground to current industry standards. The quotation provided by Landscape Structures, Inc. includes all playground equipment and installation services, including all products and surfacing. The equipment and labor are available for purchase from Landscape Structures, Inc. through the King County Directors' Association (KCDA) competitively bid contract #22- 315/City of Everett #2022-069. The City has an Interlocal cooperative purchasing agreement with KCDA that allows for purchases from its competitively awarded contracts in lieu of soliciting bids on our own. Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): Award and authorize purchase of playground equipment and installation with Landscape Structures, Inc. from King County Directors' Association #22-315/City of Everett #2022- 069 in the amount of $1,131,307.91 including Washington state sales tax.
