•
Thank you,
Chris Lieb—ADT Commercial Security
360-395-2625
From: Lieb,Christopher
Sent:Tuesday, November 9,2021 11:46 AM
To:sgoforth@everettwa.gov
Subject:Service Alternatives-Fire Alarm design-1614 Broadway
RE: Fire Alarm installation
Service Alternatives
1614 Broadway
Everett,WA,9820
Hello Steve,
I am following up our phone conversation last week regarding installation of a Fire Alarm at Service Alternatives in
Everett. I apologize for the delay getting back to you on this.To recap:they have an existing Security Alarm(intrusion
detection)which includes 3 smoke detectors located in general areas. We are proposing to upgraded and expand the
Security Alarm which means, by ADT policy as well as code considerations, that we cannot keep the smoke detectors in
the Security Alarm.
The building owner would like to have some fire detection but the only way ADT can fulfill that need is to install a UL Fire
Alarm control panel and UL commercial fire alarm devices in compliance with NFPA72. We can consider reductions in
coverage to NFPA standards for placement or spacing of devices but only with documented approval by the AHJ.
Following our conversation I prepared the attached preliminary design, which to the best of my knowledge provides
NFPA72-compliant detection coverage but a reduced notification plan consistent with what we agreed to when we
talked. Note:dimensions are approximate and the drawing is not accurate to scale but each room is smaller than 30ft x
30ft with 9 to 10ft ceilings except the ground floor Conference Room which is about 30ft x 35ft,and the top floor
conference room&adjacent offices which have a vaulted ceilings of about 15ft. Please review the drawings and
respond with your recommendations.
In order to mitigate the cost to the Customer we would like to submit for the permit using these simple design
drawings. This would eliminate engineering fees except for battery calcs and equipment documentation. Please let me
know if that is acceptable.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best Regards,
Christopher Lieb
Senior Commercial Security Consultant
11824 North Creek Parkway N Suite 105 I Bothell,WA 98011
Direct:360-395-2625 Email: cblieb@adt.com
www.adt.com/commercial
A Commereioll Pawned by Exprrionco.Driven by Excellence
