• <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3080 . <br /> AN ORDINANCE declaring a public emergency to exist alloca <br /> ting funds to the Engineering Department of Lverett, a municipal <br /> corporation, creating the position of Apprentice Senior Engineerin;; <br /> Aide, proviaing for on the job training program in compliance with <br /> the Veterans Administration program and declaring an emergency. <br /> YvHER.AS, the work in connection with the operation of the <br /> Engineering Department of the City of Everett has increased to <br /> such an extent that it is necessary to employ aaditional help to <br /> hanale the volume or work, and <br /> WHEREAS, at the time of the making of the budget for the <br /> year 1946 it could not have reasonably been foreseen that the <br /> volume of work of the Engineering Department of the City of <br /> Everett would increase and require additional employees, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Veterans Administration of the United States <br /> his proposed an on the job training program providing for part <br /> payment of the salaries of employees under a training program, <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the program of the Veterans Administration will <br /> be of an assistance to the Lngineering Department of the City of <br /> Everett and to the City of Everett. <br /> NO ii, THEREFORE, THE CITY of EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: What a public emergency exists requiring <br /> the allocation of aaditional funds for the employment of Apprentic <br /> Senior Engineering Aids for the balance of the year 1946. <br /> Section 2: That 3 positions of <br /> Apprentice Senior Engineering Aid be and are hereby created. <br /> Section 3: That the salary for the position of Appren- <br /> tice Senior Engineering Aid is hereby fixed at One Hundred Dollars <br /> (0.00. 00) per month for the balance of the year 1946, to be <br /> paid semi-monthly in equal installments commencing on the first <br /> day of July, 1946. <br /> Section 4: That there is hereby appropriated out of <br /> the General Current Expense r'und of Everett, not otherwise <br /> buageted, the sum of 4 1800 .00 , whicn shall be paid by the <br /> issuance of emergency warrants drawn on such fund by the proper <br /> officers of the ity of Everett as provided by law and charged to <br /> the department for which said warrants are issued. <br /> Section 5: That the Engineering Department of the City <br /> of Everett be authorized to enter into an agreement with the <br /> Veterans Administration of the United States for the creation of <br /> an on the job training program for Apprentice senior Engineering <br />
