<br />WATER NOTES
<br />1. All work and materials shall conform to the City of Everett
<br />Standards and APWA Standard Specifications as noted.
<br />2. No part of the water system shall be covered, concealed or put
<br />into use until it has been tested, inspected and approved by
<br />the City Inspector.
<br />3. Approximate locations of existing utilities have been obtained
<br />from available records and are shown for convenience. The
<br />contractor shall be responsible for verification of locations
<br />and to avoid damage to any additional utilities not shown. No
<br />warranty is expressed or implied as to the accuracy or
<br />completion shown. The contractor shall call Dial -Dig 48 hours
<br />prior to construction. If conflicts with existing utilities
<br />arise during construcion, the contractor shall notify the
<br />Public Works Inspector and any changes required shall be
<br />approved by the City Engineer prior to commencement of related
<br />construction on the project.
<br />4. All water main extensions within the public right-of-way or in
<br />easements must be "staked" by survey for "line and grade"
<br />prior to starting construction.
<br />5. Contractor shall notify engineer a minimum of 48 hours in
<br />advance of all requests for staking, testing or inspection.
<br />6. Contractor shall furnish shop drawings for approval where
<br />required by the detailed specifications and for variation from
<br />the engineers design.
<br />7. Contractor shall install equipment in accordance with the
<br />manufacturers recommendations.
<br />8. All water main to be ductile iron pipe Class 52
<br />9. 3 1/2 foot minimum cover.
<br />10. Live taps for service connections to be by a contract approved
<br />by the City of Everett Public Works Department.
<br />11. No changes are to be made without written approval by the
<br />City.
<br />12. Coordinate service locations with the City Water Department.
<br />13. Contractor is responsible for verifying all existing pipe
<br />types and sizes for couplings, connections, cut -ins and live
<br />taps.
<br />14. Contractor is responsible for control required at the time of
<br />staking.
<br />15. Unstable foundation material shall be removed and replaced
<br />with minimum depth of 3 1/2 minus angular foundation rock.
<br />16. Deflections limited to City standards.
<br />17. Each sheet of this plan set indicates engineering design for
<br />items as specified by the sheet title. Other utility
<br />locations indicated as background information are approximate
<br />only. These are shown to provide information relative to
<br />potential conflicts. The specific design sheet must be
<br />referenced for detailed construction information for each
<br />utility road or any additional construction items.
