SNOHOMISH COUNTY
II"LIP 1113
2320 California Street • Everett,WA• 98201 • (206) 258-8211
PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 1 Mailing Address: P.O. Box 1107 • Everett,WA• 98206-1107
July 3, 1995
Ken Howe
City of Everett
3200 Cedar Street
Everett, WA 98201
Dear Ken Howe:
In regards to your question regarding the 8"tap on the#3 Transmission Line at Dubuque
Road, the location of the service meters as shown on District drawing WE-237 will be 45'
west of the east side of the 70' x 100' utility easement on the northeast corner of parcel
362906-1-011-0004.
The District originally agreed to be the water purveyor for this water system based on
letters received from the City of Everett in 1990 regarding water service to properties
within 1000 feet of the old County landfill. Our intention is to build a pump station, water
mains and a reservoir to serve a region including the existing 3 parcels requesting water
service. Enclosed is a copy of a map from our Comprehensive Water System Plan
showing the location of a pump station, mains and reservoir serving the area which is
projected to be built in 6 or more years. The future service area will include Dubuque
Road, Creswell Road, OK Mill Road, and 171st Ave SE.
The District storage requirements for Group B water systems is the same as DOH's
requirements which exempt water systems serving 9 or fewer homes from storage. We
intend to serve only 3 lots until the reservoir is built, at which time the Butterfield water
system will be connected to several other water systems in the area. There are presently
no existing mains to allow connection at this time. The customers are aware that water
service is interruptible, and that no fire flow storage is required due to the size of the
parcels. Please let me know if this satisfies City of Everett storage requirements.
If you have any questions please call me at 258-8602,or Mark Spahr at 258-8601 if I am
unavailable.
Sincerely,
Barbara Smith
Assoc. Water Engineer
A provider of qualif water, power and service at a competitive price that customers value.
