• <br /> ORDINANCE No. <br /> AN ORDINANCE declaring a public emergency to exist, creat- <br /> ing the position of Assistant Parking Meter Serviceman; allocating <br /> funds to cover the salary of Assistant Parking Meter Serviceman <br /> for the balance of the year 1946 ; abolishing the position of Extra <br /> Parking Meter Serviceman; providing for the transfer of all funds <br /> budgeted for said item to the item of Assistant Parking Meter <br /> Serviceman, and declaring an emergency. <br /> WHEREAS, under the provisions of the budget for the year <br /> 1946 and under provisions of Ordinance No. 3049 of the City of <br /> Everett there was created the position of Extra Parking Meter <br /> Serviceman to be paid a salary at the rate of not more than 41.00 <br /> per hour ; and <br /> WHEREAS, the work of maintaining the Parking Meters of <br /> the City of Lverett has increased to such a degree that it is <br /> necessary to secure a full time employee as an Assistant Parking <br /> Meter Serviceman; and <br /> TflEREAS, a public emergency exists which could not have been <br /> reasonably foreseen at the time of the making of the budget for the <br /> year 1946 and the passage of Ordinance No. 3049, and it is necessary <br /> to appropriate the sum of 1580.00 to cover the salary for full <br /> time position of Assistant sari Teter Serviceman for the balance <br /> of the year 1946. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVEFETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That a public emergency exists requiring <br /> the allocation of additional funds for the employment of a full time <br /> Assistant Parking Meter Serviceman for the balance of the year 1946. <br /> Section 2: That the position of Extra Parking Meter <br /> Serviceman, as created by Ordinance No. 3049, is hereby abolished, <br /> and the position of Assistant Parking Meter Serviceman is hereby <br /> created. <br /> Section 3: That the salary for the position of Assist- <br /> ant Parking Meter Serviceman is hereby fixed at 4180.00 per month <br /> for the balance of the year 1946, to be paid semi-monthly in equal <br /> installments, commencing on the ? qt day of April , 1946. <br /> Section 4: That all funds allocated for the position <br /> of extra Parking Meter Serviceman by the budget for the year 1946 <br /> be, and are hereby transferred to the item of Assistant Parking <br /> Meter Serviceman. <br /> Section 5: That there is hereby appropriated out of <br /> the General Current Expense Fund of Everett, not otherwise budgeted, <br /> the sum of t 158C.QO , which shall be paid by the issuance <br /> of emergency warrants drawn on such fund by the proper officers <br /> of the City of Everett as provided by law, and charged to the <br /> department for which said warrants are issued. <br /> -1- <br />
