Exhibit A -- EMC 19.04 Definitions <br />EMC 19.04.020 General definitions. <br />"Family" means any number of persons rued by blood, marriage or legal adoption and including fost <br />•.� 1 _ __.▪ ._ _ __._.x !!r_.__.I. <br />• <br />1. A group of not more than four related and unrelated adults and their related minor children, <br />but not to exceed a total of eight related and unrelated persons; or <br />• <br />• •.,•• <br />/ <br />• <br />• <br />/ <br />• <br />/ <br />/I. State licensed foster family homes and group care facilities as defined in RCW 74.15.020. <br />/ <br />is a person under the age of eighteen years old. <br />EMC 19.04.030 Lot, building, and structure definitions. <br />"Dwelling" means one or more habitable rooms h are designed to be occupied by one fang-i-ly or <br />more persons with shared facilities for living, sleeping, cooking, eating, and sanitation, which meets the <br />minimum requirements of EMC Title 16 Building and Construction the Everett Housing Code, and in <br />which all habitable rooms are internally accessible from within the dwelling. <br />EMC 19.04.050 Use definitions, residential. <br />"Bed and breakfast house" means an owner occupied dwelling which is used to provide overnight guest <br />,e grog of mo e than five guest rooms and which usually des a rn-o-r <br />room rate structure. <br />"D4melling unit" means a residential living „nit that provides complete independent living facilities for <br />one or more persons and that includes permanent provisions for living, sleeping, cooking, eating, and <br />/ <br />habitable rooms arc internally accessible from within the dwelling. <br />"Group housing, residential care facility Category 1" means a state -licensed residential care facility <br />designed to serve as the primary residence for up to six individuals and twe resident staff, which has <br />shared living quarters without separate bathroom and/or kitchen facilities for each unit. <br />"Group housing, Category 2" means a state licensed residential care facility designed to serve as the- <br />• <br />▪ r . <br />"Group housing, extended care facility " means a state -licensed extended care facility, <br />including an assisted living facility, congregate care facility, nursing or convalescent home, and any other <br />group housing serving more than sixteen individuals. <br />"Rooming house" means a structure used for the purpose of providing lodging or lodging and meals, for <br />persons other than those under the "family" definition, for a period longer than thirty days.
