<br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />28 <br /> <br />The size of the spill will affect cleanup methods and materials. In the event of a spill that does <br />not have the potential to adversely impact the public or the environment, the Contractor shall <br />first notify the City and then proceed with cleanup. The City’s Project Manager or alternate <br />should perform an on-site inspection to verify that corrective action is adequate. In the event <br />cleanup is not adequate, the City may authorize its own crews or a third party to complete the <br />work at the Contractor’s expense. <br /> <br />The Contractor must complete an Incident Spill Report and provide a copy to the City as soon as <br />possible. Incident Spill Reports are included in this Handbook. <br /> <br /> <br />City Responsibilities <br /> <br />The City will provide all necessary support to the Contractor to assure all emergency conditions <br />are resolved. The City’s Project Manager or alternate will consult with the dispatcher to <br />determine the extent of the emergency and what cleanup measures are appropriate. The Ecology <br />Spills line must be notified ASAP in the case of a large spill, and the Northwest Regional <br />Biosolids Coordinator must be contacted ASAP for any spill. The Project Manager or alternate <br />will inform management and the City’s Public Information Officer and determine if media or <br />public notification is warranted, what procedures will be used, information to be provided and <br />establish point of contact. <br />
