<br /> <br />General <br /> <br />Vehicles <br /> <br />The vehicle owner is responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment. At a <br />minimum, the following safety equipme nt should be in all trucks: <br /> <br />• Flares <br />• Flashlight <br />• Flashing light or beacon <br />• Safety cones <br />• Shovel <br />• Broom <br />• First aid kit <br />• Personal protective equipment <br />• Absorbent pads for blocking storm drains <br />• State of Washington Accident Report Forms <br />• A copy of this handbook <br /> <br />The Contractor is responsible for assuring an appropriate communication system is in <br />all Contractor vehicles. <br /> <br />All truck and trailer tires must be washed at the City provided wash station prior to <br />leaving the Biosolid Pad to minimize tracking or dropping bio solids onto the roadways. <br /> <br /> <br />Safety <br /> <br />All drivers should be trained in defensive, safe driving methods and should have current <br />first aid certifications. All drivers must have current licenses for the vehicles they <br />operate. <br /> <br />Safe materials handling practices: <br /> <br />• Wear appropriate personal protective gear when cleaning up spil ls or cleaning <br />vehicles <br />• Wash hands frequently <br />• Keep vaccinations up to date <br />
