LOCATION: Deadwater Slough Change Order: Increasing the height of the fence and gates at Deadwater Slough from 4'to 6'and changing the quantities in the scope of work. This was an unforeseen situation because the city has seen an increase in pedestrians trespassing at this location since the bid award.The original height in the scope of work was intended to be a deterrent to trespassing by pedestrians.Through collaboration with the supplier after the award, it has been determined that an increase in fence height will provide more security to city infrastructure.The change in quantities is due to miscalculation of fence line quantities In the scope of work.The overgrown brush at the location didn't allow the project manager to accurately estimate the quantities until after the area was cleared for the fence installation in the original scope of work. Correcting the quantity will better meet the overall objective of securing the city's infrastructure. 2.LOCATION:WATER POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY Change Order 1:Removal and replacement of fifteen(15)linear feet and two(2)fence posts to match the current materials at the facility.The awarded fence was to extend from the area that was recently damaged when a vehicle struck it at the facility after the contract award.The area must be repaired prior to extending the newly awarded fence. Replacing this section of fence will provide a secure fence line and ensure the security perimeter of the facility remains intact. Change Order 2: Installing 4' man gate along the section of fencing listed in the original scope of work.The gate was not included in the contracted scope of work because the wet conditions surrounding the installation location became a factor in the accessibility of the fencing.After award, it was determined that city staff needed to be able to access the gate from the secured and public sides of the fence. The changes described above result in the following adjustment(s)in price and contract time (in calendar days).
