The <br />programmed available funding for the preliminary and final design of this project is <br />$3,500,000. <br />Project summary statement: <br />This project, in conjunction with the Sewer "0" Phase 2 project, will control/eliminate <br />combined sewer flooding at 36th Street and McDougall Ave and reduce combined sewer <br />overflow (CSO) discharges at Snohomish River Outfalls (SRO) SR07 and SR08 to comply <br />with Department of Ecology requirements. The initial funding Ordinance (Ordinance No. <br />3812-21) included potential funding from the WA State Department of Ecology. After <br />reviewing the proposed scope of the project during preliminary design, it was <br />determined that the project would not qualify for external funding and those funds have <br />been re -programmed to a different capital project. <br />At this point, preliminary design is nearing completion and this Ordinance is necessary to <br />provide funding for final design. Once the final design is complete, the Public Works <br />Department will bring a funding ordinance for the construction phase to City Council for <br />consideration. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Adopt an Ordinance creating a special improvement project entitled "36th Street <br />CSO Storage and Regulator Modifications" Fund 336, Program 022 and repealing <br />Ordinance No. 3812-21. <br />
