AN ORDINANCE amending Section 8 of Ordinance No. 2734 of the City of Everett , which Ordinance is entitled as follows: "An Ordinance relating to vehicles and the operation thereof upon the public streets and other public places of the City of Everett ; providing for vehicle equipment; limiting and restricting certain sections of the public streets and other public places of the City of Everett ; prescribing rules of the road for vehicles operating on public streets or other public places of the City of Everett ; defining offenses and fixing penalties; repealing certain ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance ; saving certain acts performed and declaring an emergency, " and declaring an emergency. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That Section 8 of Ordinance No. 2734, entitled as above set forth, be , and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 8: (1) Every person operating or driving a vehicle of any character upon the public highways of Everett shall operate the same in a careful and prudent manner and at a rate of speed no greater than is reason- able and proper under the conditions existing at the point of operation, taking into account the amount and character of the traffic , weight of vehicle, grade and width of highway, condition of surface and freedom of obstruction to view ahead and consistent with any and all conditions existing at the point of operation so as not to unduly or unreasonably endanger the life , limb, property or other rights of any person entitled to the use of such public highways. (2) Subject to the provisions of sub-section (1) of this section, and except in those instances where a lower maximum lawful speed is provided by this ordinance or otherwise, it shall be unla, ful for the operator of any vehicle to operate the same at a speed in excess of the following: (a) Thirty-five (35) miles per hour on U. S. Highway No. 99 , Primary State highway No. 1 , between the inter- section of said highway and 45th Street and the mouth Boundary of the City Limits of the City of Everett ; (b) Thirty-five (35) miles per hour on U. . Highway No. 99, Primary State llighway i.\o . 1 , between the inter- section of said highway and 1Oth Street and the North boundary of the City Limits of the City of Everett . (c ) Twenty-five (25) miles per hour within the corporate • limits of the City of Everett, except as herein provided. ( d) Twenty (20) miles per hour in traversing any inter- section of public highways where the op rotor' s view is obstructed; provided, except as otherwise provided in this
