ORDINANCE NO. <br />0 <br />EVERETT <br />WASH I NGTON <br />An Ordinance Levying the Emergency Medical Services Property Taxes for the City of Everett for Fiscal <br />Year Commencing January 1, 2023, on All Taxable Property, Both Real and Personal, Subject to Taxation <br />Thereon, for the Purpose of Raising a Portion of the Revenue to Carry on City Operations for the Ensuing <br />Year, as Required by the Charter of the City of Everett and the Laws of the State of Washington <br />WHEREAS, <br />A. The City Council of the City of Everett has met and considered its budget for the calendar year <br />2023. <br />B. The City's actual EMS levy amount from the previous year was $9,727,240.15 <br />C. The population of the City of Everett is more than 10,000. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br />Section 1. That there be, and hereby is, levied upon real and personal property in the City of Everett, <br />subject to taxation thereon, a general property tax for municipal purposes commencing on January 1, <br />2022, as follows: <br />EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES <br />The dollar amount of the increase over the actual levy amount from the previous year shall be <br />$97,272.40, which is a percentage increase of 1% from the previous year. This increase is exclusive of <br />additional revenue resulting from new construction, improvements to property, newly constructed wind <br />turbines, solar, biomass, and geothermal facilities, and any increase in the value of state assessed <br />property, any annexations that have occurred and refunds made. <br />Section 2. That the City Clerk be, and hereby is, directed to certify to the County Assessor a copy of this <br />ordinance in order that the same be extended upon the general assessment roll of said County, in the <br />same manner and at the same time that the levy for the State and County taxes is extended. <br />Section 3. That said taxes shall be collected and paid to the City Treasurer at the same time and in the <br />same manner as provided by the laws of the State of Washington relating to collection of taxes in first <br />class cities. <br />Section 4. The City Clerk and the codifiers of this Ordinance are authorized to make necessary <br />
