The <br />Snohomish County will reimburse the City of Everett $101,000 for the detective position <br />for the term of July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023. <br />Project summary statement: <br />This type of verification program has been in place for many years. The State of <br />Washington has provided the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs to <br />provide grants to local agencies to verify the addresses and residency of all registered <br />sex offenders and kidnapping offenders. Snohomish County, through its Sheriff's Office, <br />has created a task force to coordinate these actives and will reimburse a total of <br />$101,000 to the City of Everett to have one full-time detective assigned to this Task <br />Force. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents and agreements with Snohomish <br />County regarding the sex offender address and residency verification program services, <br />allowing the Everett Police Department to accept and utilize the funds in the amount of <br />$101,000.00. <br />
