• •
Joey Perez
Plan Check Number: B2203-004, First Building Review
March 24, 2022
Comments:
1. The submitted drawings appear to include prior unpermitted work, including but not limited to
the Office. The existing conditions shown in the drawings are not consistent with the available
City of Everett and Snohomish County records. A copy of the old SnoCo Field Assessor record is
attached; note that the SnoCo records only provide a record of the building condition for the
purpose of assessing taxes and do not substantiate a permitted condition. The SnoCO Field
Assessor record showing a covered deck at the location of the office. The drawings should be
revised to show all previous unpermitted work as new work; all new work is required to comply
with the current code requirements. Alternatively, the drawings should show the removal of
unpermitted work and restoration of the building to its previous legally permitted condition.
See IRC Sections R102.7.1, R105.1, and R113.1.
2. A note should be added to the plans to specify solid blocking for all grab bars with a minimum
250-pound capacity per Accessible and Usable Building and Facilities of Washington Section
609.8.
3. Grab bars are being installed within the bathroom. It is recommended that grab bars comply
with IRC Section R330.8.
This review has been performed for general compliance with the building codes as adopted and
amended by the state of Washington and the city of Everett. Corrections and comments made
during the review process do not relieve the project from compliance with code and permit
requirements. The designers-of-record are responsible for a complete design in accordance with
the laws of the state of Washington.
If you have any questions or require additional clarification, please contact us.
Respectfully,
Rakeeb Khan
Residential Plans Examiner
(425)257-7299
rkhan@everettwa.gov
S:\RKhan\2022\B2203-004_R1.docx
0n 3200 Cedar Street © 425.257.8810 0 everetteps@everettwa.gov
% Everett,WA 98201 425.257.8857 fax everettwa.gov/permits
Page 2 of 2
