January 18, 2012 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m., January 18, 2012 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall, President Gipson presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, Hatloe, Gipson, Nielsen, and <br /> Stonecipher were present. Council Member Moore and Affholter were <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Nielsen led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the January 11, 2012 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephanson thanked Council President Gipson for attending the <br /> Martin Luther King event at the United Methodist Church with him on <br /> Sunday. <br /> STORM UPDATE <br /> Dave Davis, Public Works, gave an update on snow removal efforts. He <br /> stated that the city has seven snowplows and the crews have been <br /> working around the clock since Saturday plowing and sanding the streets <br /> in an attempt to keep ahead of the snow which continues to fall. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Hatloe thanked Dave and city crews for their efforts. <br /> Council Member Roberts also thanked the Public Works crews. He stated <br /> that he spent last week in Olympia where he gave reports on the <br /> Connective Washington Taskforce and the transportation work that they <br /> did. <br /> Council President Gipson reported on his attendance at the Martin Luther <br /> King celebration. He thanked the Mayor and Transportation Services for <br /> keeping the bus shelters cleared and the buses running on time. <br /> 12 <br />
