It has been well researched that police officers have shorter life <br />expectancies than the general population, and heart disease is a leading cause of death <br />to active and retired law enforcement officers. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents and agreements with the <br />Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission regarding the acceptance and <br />utilization of the Officer Wellness Program Grant in the amount of $152,000. <br />
