January 11, 2023 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., January 11, 2023, <br />President Stonecipher presiding. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Rhyne, Schwab, Vogeli, <br />Zarlingo, Tuohy, and Stonecipher were present. Council Member Fosse was excused. <br /> <br />Council Member Tuohy led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />On behalf of the City Council, Council Member Schwab acknowledged the original inhabitants of <br />this place, the sduhubš people, and their successors, the Tulalip Tribes. <br /> <br />The minutes of the January 4, 2023, City Council meeting were approved as printed. <br /> <br />President Stonecipher made a correction from last week’s meeting that she was Council <br />President for the years 2021 and 2022. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR’S COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin encouraged community members to participate in the various Martin Luther King <br />Jr. Day events around the City this next weekend. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin presented her selections for various boards and commissions. <br /> <br />The following three appointments do not require Council approval but were presented to <br />Council: <br /> <br />Chip Loan Review Committee <br />• Seth Jones – Position 1 for a term expiring 12/31/2026 <br />• Bridget Larsen – Alternate Position 1 for a term expiring 12/31/2024 <br />• Bryan Bonin – Alternate Position 2 for a term expiring 12/31/2024 <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Tuohy, seconded by Council Member Rhyne, to concur with the <br />following appointments: <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS <br /> <br />Diversity Advisory Board <br />• Miriam Marez – Position 3 for a term expiring 12/31/2024 <br />• Leslie Shattuck – Position 8 for a term expiring 12/31/2024
