This is the primary use <br />of our waterways <br />Paddle Sports <br />05-29-23 to 09-27-23 <br />Kite Surfers use small paddle <br />craft to cross the Snohomish <br />River in an area of high boat <br />traffic. <br />Shrimping <br />TBD <br />Shrimping not only brings out a <br />large amount of boats, but the <br />limited number of shrimping <br />days forces boaters to go out in <br />possible poor conditions. <br />High Priority Audiences <br />Description of Audience <br />Why is this Audience a Priority? <br />Comments <br />Kite Surfers, kayakers <br />They use small paddle craft to <br />cross the Snohomish River to <br />get to Jetty Island <br />Where they cross the <br />Snohomish river is one of the <br />busiest areas of the river. Rules <br />of the road violations will be <br />enforced, along with PFD. <br />Fishers and Crabbers using <br />boats under 16 feet <br />Our last two fatalities were in <br />small boats in this type of <br />activity <br />we will target this population <br />for inspections and <br />enforcement. Any violations <br />involving overloading of boats <br />will result in enforcement. <br />
