• <br /> employes, ,he above six ( 6 ) memb:>rs appointing the seventh member, <br /> who shall be a taxpayer of the City not connected with its <br /> administration or service. <br /> In case of vacancy in office or inability of any of <br /> said Board to attend to the duties thereof, the City Council <br /> shall designate by resolution, either the City Clerk or City <br /> Treasurer to take the place of any of the City Commissioners, but <br /> the place of any of the three elected City employes shall be <br /> filled by appointment made by such remaining, elective members, <br /> and the position of the appointed member shell be filled by <br /> appointment of the Board of Administration for the unexpired term. <br /> An appointment to fill the vacancy of an elective member shell <br /> continue only until the next annual election when e successor <br /> shell be elected to fill the unexpired term of such elective <br /> member. <br /> The City Clerk of the City of Everett shall conduct an <br /> election each year for the election of one such employe of the <br /> City of Everett to the Board of Administration. The term of <br /> office shall be for three (3) years. Not more than thirty, nor <br /> less than fifteen days prior to the second Tuesday in February <br /> of each year , the clerk of the City of Everett shell post notices <br /> of nomination of any such employe of the City of Everett for <br /> membership on said Board. Each notice of nomination shall be <br /> filed with the City Clerk and shall be signed by not less than <br /> ten employes of the City of `_.verett, and nothing herein contained <br /> shell prevent any such employe from signing more than one notice <br /> of nomination. Said election shall be held on a date to be fixed <br /> by the City Clerk and shall not be less than five days nor more <br /> than ten days before the second. Tuesday of February in each year. <br /> Notice of the dates upon which said notice of nominations may be <br /> filed and the date fixed for the election of said member of said <br /> Board shall be eiven by the Clerk of the City of Everett by post- <br /> ing written notice thereof in a prominent place in the office of <br /> the City Clerk of the City of Everett and in the ',peter and Street <br /> Departments. For the purpose of said election, the City Clerk <br /> shall prepare and furnish printed or typewritten ballots in <br /> the usual form containing the names of all persons regularly <br /> nominated or such membership and shall furnish a ballot box or <br /> ballot boxes for said election. The City Clerk may designate <br /> ny employe of the City of Everett as his deputy or assistant for <br /> the purpose of conducting said election or assisting therein <br /> at any point outside of the city of ,verett where more than five <br /> employes are situate. <br /> Each employe of the City of Everett shall be entitled <br /> to vote at said election for one person as a member of said Board: <br /> The City Clerk shall appoint two employes of the City of Everett <br /> as officials of said election who shall be allowed their regular <br /> wages for said day, but shall receive no additional compensation <br /> therefor. Said election shall be held in the office of the City <br /> Clerk in the City Hall , End such other place outside of the City <br /> Hall, as shall be designated by the Clerk as aforesaid. The poll <br /> shall be open from 8:00 o 'clock A. F. and close et 6:00 o' clock <br /> P . K. , and the nominee receiving the highest number of votes at <br /> said election shall be declared elected a member of said Board, <br /> and his term shall commence on the first --onday in April follow- <br /> ing said election, provided that not more then thirty days after <br /> taking effect of this ordinance a special election shall be held <br /> to elect three members of said Board, one to serve until the firs <br /> Honday in April, 1946, one to serve until the first l`ondey in <br /> April, 1947 , and one to serve until the first Hondey in <br /> -7- <br />
