ORDINANCE No. 3022 AN. O. DIN ACE fixing end determining the number of the various officers, assistants, deputies and employees of the city of Everett ; prescribin:_; the duties of such officers, assistants, deputies and employees; fixing, their salaries; repealing Ordinance No. 2993 of the City of Everett ; providing this Ordinance shall take effect on January 1, 1945, and declaring an emergency. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That beginning January 1, 1945, and on end after said date , the various officers, assistants, deputies and employees of the City of Everett , in addition to those pro- vided for in the Charter of the City of Everett, shell be as in • this Ordinance provided. Section 2: CITY ATTORNEY DEPARTEENT. Where shall be in the office of the City Attorney an Assistant City Attorney, a stenographer and a relief steno- grapher (part time ) . Said Assistant City rttorney end said stenographers shall perform such duties as the City 1ttorney may authorize and direct. Section 3 : CITY HALL DEPARTYEET. There shall oe in the City Hall Department one janitor and one assistant janitor. Said janitor and said assistant janitor shall perform the janitor work in connection with the City Hall. Section 4: LIBRARY DEPARTICENT. There shall be in the Library Department the follow- ing named officers , assistants and employees, to-wit: One Librarian; One Children' s (School)Librarian; One Cataloger and 1st Assistant Librarian; One Professional Assistant ; One Desk Clerk; One .gook Wagon Clerk; One Juvenile Clerk (part time ) ; and one or more pages, helpers and sub- stitutes, (part time ) . The Librarian shall be in general charge and shall have supervision of the Library Department. The other officers, assistants and employees shall perform such duties as pertain to te.e nature of their office and as authorized and directed by the Librarian .
