m„r <br /> ORDINJ NCE No. <br /> 3009 . <br /> APT OPDIN.FNCE submitting to the qualified electors of <br /> Everett a proposed amendment to the Charter of Everett to be <br /> designated es Section 155, at a special municipal election to <br /> be held in Everett on the llth day of July, 1944, said section <br /> authorizing the City Council of Everett to establish a retire- <br /> ment and disability pension system for officers and employees <br /> of said City, not receiving a pension pursuant to state law, <br /> and requesting the Election Board of Snohomish County, Washing- <br /> ton, to call said election et said time for said purpose , and <br /> declaring en emergency. <br /> TB1 CITY OF EV RETT DOES O DAIN: <br /> Section 1: That e proposed amendment to the Charter <br /> of Everett, to be designated as Section of said Charter, <br /> authorizing the City Council to establish a retirement and dis- <br /> ability pension system for officers and employees of said City, <br /> not pensioned pursuant to state law, to be submitted to the <br /> qualified electors of Everett, at a special municipal election <br /> to be held in said City on the llth day of July, 1944. <br /> Section 2: That the Charter of Everett be amended <br /> by adding thereto a section to be designated as Section 155 of <br /> said Charter, said section to read as follows: <br /> Section 155. RETIREMENT AND DISABILITY <br /> PENSION SYSTEM <br /> The City Council may by ordinance establish a <br /> pension system for the retirement of superannuated <br /> or permanently disabled officers and employees of the <br /> • <br /> City and for making compensation thereto in cases of <br /> partial or temporary disability. Any system established <br /> thereunder shall be financed jointly by the City and <br /> the officers and employees affected thereunder . Prior <br /> to the establishment thereof the council shall , for its <br /> guidance , secure from a competent actuary a report of <br /> the cost of establishing the same . The provisions hereof <br /> shall not be applicable to officers or employees <br /> pensioned pursuant to State Law. In the event that <br /> a State Law shell provide a retirement and disability <br /> pension system applicable to officers and employees <br /> of the City of Everett, provided for in this section, <br /> the City Council is hereby authorized to adopt such <br /> retirement epd disability pension system for said <br /> officers and employees of said City as provided by <br /> said law. <br /> Section 3: The form of ballot to be used at said <br /> election shall be as follows: <br />
