Casework construction to be white low-pressure laminate over 3/4" industrial <br />board. <br />2. Shelving to all be adjustable. Exposed shelving and exposed cabinet box interiors to <br />be high-pressure laminate (i.e.: vertical chart storage, computer cabinets without <br />doors, other open shelving in Business Office and corridors). The front edge of all <br />concealed adjustable shelves to be high-pressure laminate. For shelving in General <br />Storage, white low-pressure laminate is acceptable. <br />,i. Countertops to be plastic laminate bonded over 2/4" industrial board. <br />4. Contractor shall provide 1" square tubular steel bracing for all unsupported <br />countertops. Bracing should extend two-thirds the depth of the countertop and as <br />far down wall as deemed necessary. See Detail I/2. Cabinetmaker to verify location <br />and requirements with Contractor. <br />,. Backsplashes to be 1 x 4 wrapped with plastic laminate unless otherwise noted. If <br />full backsplashes to the underside of the upper cabinets are called out on the plans, <br />they are to be 3/4" thick (unless solid surface is specified) and side splashes are <br />lowered to 4" unless illustrated differently. Check Elevations. <br />6. Where backsplashes are eliminated, scribe for tight fit to wall. <br />7. Self -edges to be 1-1/2" and plastic laminate, unless otherwise noted. If other edges, <br />such as wood or stone, are specified then a detail of the profile will be provided. <br />S. Toekicks are 3/4" x 4" unfinished particle board for application of specified base <br />materials in general casework areas only. Toekicks to be 6"H finished p-lam on <br />ALL CABINETRY in Operatories. <br />9. Doors and drawer heads to be plastic laminate with white low-pressure cabinet <br />liner. PVC edgebanding is acceptable ONLY if an exact match can be made and <br />only in areas where the laminate and edgebanding are not seen on the <br />same plane. Otherwise, laminate banding must be used. A submittal to Designer <br />is required if PVC edgebanding is proposed. <br />io. Drawers to be white low-pressure laminate bonded over 3/4" industrial board with <br />doweled construction. ALL FILE DRAWERS TO BE LETTER -SIZED HANGING <br />FRONT -TO -BACK UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. THEY SHOULD BE <br />CONSTRUCTED TO RECEIVE THE PENDAFLEX HANGERS WITHOUT A <br />SEPARATE RACK (including the top -mounted file tabs). <br />1i. Drawer slides are 3/4" extension Accuride 50# capacity, or equal. Full -extension <br />Accuride too# slides on all file drawers, or equal. Blum 125' self -closing hinges, or <br />equal. <br />12. Cabinetmaker to provide keyboard tray/mouse tray combo per specification noted <br />on Miscellaneous Hardware Schedule, Sheet 5. <br />1i. Pulls are standard to meet barrier -free codes. Hardware specification called out on <br />Door Hardware Schedule. <br />14. Locks to be included only where specified on elevations; finish to match wire pulls or <br />verify with Designer. <br />1s. Electrical grommets to be included on all desk -height surfaces in kneeholes. <br />Cabinetmaker to coordinate exact grommet locations with Doctor. Power, phone <br />and computer jacks will be installed 18" off floor in kneeholes and cords brought <br />through grommets. Use putty colored grommets unless otherwise noted on Plastic <br />Laminate Schedule. <br />16. No center stiles unless approved by Designer before fabrication. <br />17. Plastic laminates will be selected from Nevamar, WilsonArt, Formica, Pionite, <br />Arborite and/or LaminArt. See Cabinet Finish Schedule for colors and materials. <br />If any surface is not clearly specified, call Designer. <br />18. PROVIDE MARINE -GRADE PLYWOOD OR M.R. BOARD FOR CABINETS <br />AROUND STERILIZER(S) & HYDRIM IN STERILIZATION. TO AVOID <br />DELAMINATION FROM MOISTURE, DO NOT PLACE SEAMS IN LAMINATE <br />UNDER EQUIPMENT. <br />19. Interior finished dimensions of upper cabinets should be 12" clear, minimum, unless <br />otherwise noted. If Cabinetmaker is providing Operatory cabinets, upper cabinets <br />are to be 9" deep EXTERIOR clear. Where upper cabinets do not have undereabinet <br />light valance, the bottom of the cabinet should be finished in high-pressure <br />laminate. <br />20. Refer to Miscellaneous Hardware Schedule for dispenser specifications. See Detail <br />A/6 for mounting detail. Cabinetmaker to verify width of dispenser and mounting <br />bracket and ensure the clear width of cabinet is sufficient to adequately remove the <br />lid of dispenser. <br />21. Cabinetmaker to verify chart size with Doctor, and then determine chart rack <br />dimensions accordingly. To prevent sagging of shelves, horizontal sections should <br />not exceed 30. Undereabinet lighting to be mounted behind valance at FRONT of upper cabinet. <br />Sides of upper cabinet boxes must not extend below cabinet bottom to allow the <br />installation of this lighting in a continuous line.
