<br />6.3 CURRENT COPY OF CITY OF EVERETT PUBLIC WORKS STANDARD PLANS AND
<br />STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS
<br />7, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL NECESSARY EQUIPMENT TO PREVENT UTILITY
<br />INTERRUPTION. NOTIFY THE OWNER ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE OF EACH UTILITY

<br />8. PRIOR TO BIDDING, IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTORS RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE ALL

<br />WORK TO ENSURE THAT ALL ITEMS OF WORK NECESSARY TO PERFORM A
<br />COMPLETE AND ACCEPTABLE JOB HAVE BEEN TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION.

<br />1. NO STRIPPING OF NATIVE SOILS FINISH GRADE IS REQUIRED, CONTRACTOR SHALL
<br />MOW EXISTING VEGETATION DOWN TO NO GREATER THAN 2 INCHES ABOVE EXISITING
<br />FINISHED GRADE. SHOULD CONTRACTOR ENCOUNTER EXISTING STOCKPILES OF
<br />ORGANIC OR ORGANIC RICH SOILS, REMOVE AND GRADE AREA FLUSH WITH
<br />SURROUNDING AREA. ALL AREAS ARE TO BE PROOF -ROLLED PER THE
<br />GEOTECHNICAL REPORT RECOMMENDATIONS. ADDRESS UNSUITABLE AREAS BY
<br />OVEREXCAVATING TO A MAXIMUM DEPTH OF 12 INCHES AND REPLACE WITH
<br />SUITABLE STRUCTURAL FILL MATERIAL
<br />2, ALL EXPOSED SUBGRADE SHALL BE PROOF ROLLED UNDER THE OBSERVATION OF
<br />THE OWNERS INSPECTION / TESTING AGENCY WITH A LOADED 12 CY (MINIMUM)
<br />DUMP TRUCK OR HEAVY COMPACTOR. ANY LOCALIZED ZONE OF YIELDING
<br />SUBGRADE SHALL BE OVEREXCAVATED TO A MAXIMUM DEPTH OF 24" (OR AS
<br />DETERMINED BY THE OWNER'S GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER) AND REPLACED WITH
<br />STRUCTURAL FILL, COMPACTED TO 95% MAX. DENSITY.
<br />3. WHERE SUBGRADE CANNOT BE FEASIBLY SUBJECTED TO A PROOF -ROLL,
<br />COMPACTION SHALL BE VERIFIED BY A MINIMUM OF ONE NON-DESTRUCTIVE FIELD
<br />DENSITY TEST (I.E. NUCLEAR DENSIOMETER) PER 2,000 SQUARE FEET, BUT IN NO
<br />CASE LESS THAN THREE (3) TESTS. IF ADDITIONAL COMPACTION IS REQUIRED,
<br />RE -TESTING OF SUBGRADE SHALL BE AT CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE.
<br />4. GRAVEL BORROW SHALL BE PLACED IN LOOSE LIFTS NOT TO EXCEED 8-INCHES,
<br />MOISTURE CONDITIONED TO ACHIEVE OPTIMAL MOISTURE CONTENT FOR COMPACTION,
<br />AND COMPACTED TO 95% MAX. DENSITY PER ASTM D-1557.
<br />5. GRAVEL BORROW SHALL COMPLY WITH WSDOT STANDARD SPECIFICATION 9-03.14(1),
<br />MODIFIED FROM 7.0% TO 5.0% PASSING THE U.S. NO. 200 SIEVE.
<br />6. CRUSHED SURFACING TOP COURSE (CSTC) SHALL COMPLY WITH WSDOT STANDARD
<br />SPECIFICATION 9-03.9(3).
<br />7. BASE COURSE OR CRUSHED SURFACING BASE COURSE SHALL CONFORM TO WSDOT
<br />9-03.9(3) REQUIREMENTS.
<br />8. SUBMIT ONE COPY OF INSPECTION / TESTING AGENCY FIELD REPORTS AND
<br />COMPACTION RESULTS TO OWNER AND ENGINEER WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF FIELD
<br />OBSERVATION,
<br />9. NON -WOVEN GEOTEXTILE FABRIC SHALL CONFORM WITH REQUIREMENTS OF
<br />SEPARATION FABRIC PER TABLE 3 OF WSDOT SPECIFICATION 9-33.2(1).
<br />INSTALLATION OF FABRIC SHALL CONFORM WITH WSDOT SPECIFICATION 2-12.
<br />1. DURING CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL
<br />TEMPORARY STRIPING / SIGNAGE NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN SAFE VEHICLE AND
<br />PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC.
<br />2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAINTING ALL LINES AND SYMBOLS
<br />OBSCURED BY HIS WORK TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE CITY INSPECTOR. PRIOR TO
<br />CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY THE EXISTING STRIPING /
<br />SURFACE OF EACH PAVEMENT SEGMENT TO BE RECONSTRUCTED,
<br />3. PAINT SHALL BE APPLIED IN TWO APPLICATIONS. THE TIME PERIOD BETWEEN
<br />APPLICATIONS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH WSDOT SPECIFICATION SECTION
<br />8-22.3(3).
<br />4. PAVEMENT MARKING PREPARATION AND INSTALLATION SHALL COMPLY WITH WSDOT
<br />STANDARD SPECIFICATION 8-22,
<br />5. PAVEMENT MARKING MATERIALS SHALL COMPLY WITH WSDOT STANDARD SPECIFICATION
<br />SECTION 9-34 AND BE ON WSDOT QPL LIST.
<br />6. PAINT SHALL BE WHITE OR YELLOW RETROREFLECTIVE PAINT PER WSDOT 9-34.2.
<br />7. STOP SIGN SHALL CONFORM TO MUTCD REQUIREMENTS.
