. • <br /> P <br /> ORDINANCE No. ,f 4 <br /> AN ORDINATvCE relating to and authorizing the attend- <br /> ance of Reece Hepler, a first-class patrolman of the City of <br /> Everett, et the traffic officers training school conducted by <br /> the northwestern University at Evanston, Illinois, during the <br /> term beginning on or about September 13, 1943, and continuing <br /> for approximately Four (4) months, and declaring an emergency. <br /> WHEREAS, said Northwestern university at Evanston, <br /> Illinois, is conducting a training school for traffic officers, <br /> and <br /> Y,'HLRELS, the said Reece Hepler has been designated as <br /> an officer to attend said school; and <br /> WTIEREAS, said officer is allowed while attending said <br /> school the sura of Six Hundred Dollars (13600.00) ; and <br /> ULE''REAS, it is necessary and proper and for the best <br /> interest of the City of Everett that said officer attend said <br /> school. <br /> NOV, THEREFORE, TH CITY* OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That Reece Hepler, a first-class patrol- <br /> man of the City of Everett, be, and he is hereby authorized and <br /> directed to attend said officers training school conducted by <br /> the Northwestern University at Evanston, Illinois , for the term <br /> beginning September 13, 1943, and continuing for approximately <br /> Four (4) months. <br /> Section 2: That during the attendance of said <br /> officer at said training school he should be entitled to receive <br /> and there should be paid to him his regular salary es an officer <br /> of said Police Department, and during his attendance et said <br /> school said officer shall be deemed a ner ber of said Police <br /> Department and shall be entitled to all the rights as a member <br /> of said Police Department and shall be subject to all the <br /> duties as an officer of said Police Department . <br /> Section 3: That the said officer shall enter into <br /> an agreement with the City of Everett that in the event said <br /> officer voluntarily leaves said Police Department of the City <br /> of Everett at any time within a period of Five ( 5) years from <br /> the 13th day of September, 1943, that the said officer shall <br /> reimburse the said City of l',verett for all salaries paid to him <br /> during the tine that he was in attendance at said school. <br /> Section 4: En emergent' i declared to exist and <br /> this ordinance shall take effect upo it pe ssage and publication. <br /> Attest : Mayor <br /> City Cle <br /> Passed: August 31 , 1943 . <br /> Published: Sept . 1 , 1943 . <br />
