, . . <br /> Section 22 : CIVILIAN DEFENSE DEPARTNEi`7TS: <br /> Clerks ( part time) 1.00 per day <br /> Section 23 : LIBRARY D: ARTNTEiTT: <br /> That in the Library Department the salaries of <br /> all renular permanent full time officers and employees shall be <br /> raised ''15. 00 per month each as a bonus from July 1 , 1943 , to <br /> December 31 , 1943 , to be paid under the same terms and condi- <br /> tions as Provided herein . <br /> Section 24: To provide for the payment of the bonus and <br /> salaries referred to in this ordinance the following approp- <br /> riations, or so much as may be necessary, are hereby made: <br /> 7, 080.00 from the Everett water Fund <br /> as an emergency outlay, and <br /> " l8 ,084. 00 from the other funds as an <br /> emergency appropriation. <br /> Section 25: That the Commissioner of Finance and the °ity <br /> Clerk are hereby directed to issue the necessary emergency <br /> warrants for the expenditures herein authorized , and such warrants <br /> shall be charged to the Department for which said warrants are <br /> is sued. <br /> Section 26: Whereas the emergency appropriations hereby made <br /> are necessary to meet actual necessary expenditures of the <br /> various departments of the city government for which no appro- <br /> priations have been made due to causes, to-wit : <br /> The existing salaries paid the various officers, <br /> assistants, deputies and employees of the City of Everett are <br /> considerably less than the salaries paid employees performing <br /> similar work in private industry and business in the City of <br /> Everett and it the vicinity thereof, and the continued increase <br /> in living costs due to the wsr emergency which could not reason- <br /> ably have been foreseen at the time of making the 1943 budget, <br /> wherein it is necessary for the i_:mi.ediate preservation of the public <br /> health , peace and safety that this ordinance shall become effective <br /> without delay ; <br /> NOW, TBEk170RE, in accordance with the provisions <br /> of Remington ' s Revised Statutes, Section 9000-6 , by reason of the <br /> facts above stated and the emergency which is hereby declared to <br /> exist this ordinance shall become -ctive immediately upon its <br /> passage and publication . <br /> to!Se <br /> 4.6 T°avor. <br /> 1ltt�:_� u � <br /> Attest: <br /> / _City Clerk. <br /> Passed August 10, 1943 . <br /> Published August 1,, 1943 . <br />
