Mukilteo Blvd., Everett, WA <br />Preceding action: Funding Ordinance 3733-20 3/4/2020 <br />Fund: Fund 354, Program 065 (CIP-3, Fund 145, & WA State RCO — YAF Grant) <br />Fiscal summary statement: <br />The source of funds for the Forest Park Sport Court Renovation is Capital Improvement Fund 354, <br />Program 065 in the amount of $35,000, Fund 145 Street & Alley vacation fund in the amount of <br />$155,000, and Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office program for Youth Athletic <br />Facilities (WRCO-YAF grant) in the amount of $111,983.99. The project was completed at a total <br />cost of $201,897.94. <br />Project summary statement: <br />Periodic renovations to Parks sport courts are necessary to keep the sport courts functional and <br />enjoyable for customers and to minimize maintenance costs. This project renovated the sport <br />courts and adjacent parking area at Forest Park. The sport courts had not been resurfaced for at <br />least 15 years and needed repair due to wear caused by long-term, heavy use. <br />The tennis court and the multi -purpose court have been repaired, resurfaced, and restriped <br />including striping for pickleball. In addition, this work included installing new tennis nets and <br />posts, and adjustable basketball goals. New site amenities included a new picnic table, benches, <br />a drinking fountain, a solar trash compactor, and a bicycle rack. <br />The existing retaining wall was repaired, and new fence posts and fabric were installed. The <br />adjacent parking area and pathways have been repaired and overlain with asphalt. ADA <br />improvements included new access gates, improved pathways, and new ADA compliant parking <br />stalls. <br />All work has been completed to the satisfaction of the Parks and Facilities Department. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Adopt an Ordinance closing a special improvement project entitled "Forest Park Sport Court <br />Renovation", Fund 354, Program 065, as established by Ordinance No. 3733-20. <br />
