p
•
EVERETT 16 April 2020
WASHINGTON
Kevin Lawson
Rodarte Construction, Inc.
17 East Valley Highway East
Auburn, WA 98092
Re: Continuity of Construction Activities during COVID-19
Dear Mr. Lawson,
This is a short follow-up to conversations the construction
management office has had with many of you regarding the
COVID-19 situation and Everett construction projects.
As you know, the Everett Public Works Department is proceeding
with its projects under construction. Our experience in the past
month indicates that our contractors and our Department staff are
able to make necessary adjustments and safely continue
work. Although nobody can predict the future, the Department's
intent is to remain on this course.
Each contractor must develop and follow a COVID-19 safety plan
appropriate to its project. Our information is that most, if not all, of
our contractors have already done this. Please make sure that you
retain a copy of your safety plan on file and have it available at
your jobsite.
It is possible that a contractor may determine, because of the
particular circumstances of its project, that issues relating to
COVID-19 make proceeding with the work a problem. In that case,
please communicate with us. The Department's intent in that
situation is to agree with the contractor to a pause in the work,
granting the contractor a time extension without additional
compensation.
PUBLIC WORKS We realize these are challenging times, and we thank you for your
3200 Cedar Street cooperation in navigating through it.
V Everett,WA 98201
Sincerely,
O425.257.8800
425.257.8882 fax
everettpw@everettwa.gov Tom Fuchs
11-" everettwa.gov/pw Construction Manager
`
