• ORDINANCE No. X 9 6 L AN ORDINANCE levying the gene ral taxes for the City of Everett for the fiscal year commencing January 1, 1943, on all taxable property, both real and personal , in said City sub- ject to taxation the reon, for the purp ose of raising sufficient revenue to carry on -the different departments of said City for the ensuing year as required by the Charter of said City and the laws of the State of Washington; prescribing and ap )ortion- ing the same into different hinds of said City for said fiscal year, and pzovidin ; for the collection thereof . viHERELs, on the 17th day of September, 1942 , the City Council of the City of Everett duly and regularly adopted the estimate of the amounts required to meet the Public expense of said City for the ensuing year, and the amounts to be raised by taxes in said City for said ensuing year from sources other than direct taxation; end ',THER I,S, notice that said City Council tentatively completed the budget for the City of Everett for the year 1943 , and tha t a copy of said budget would be furnished any taxpayer of the City of Everett on application the refor, and that the City Council of said City would meet in the Council Chamber of' the City 1 11 at 10:00 o 'clock A . H. , on the 5th day of October, 1942, for the purpose of fixing the final budget and designating the tax levy, and thE. t any taxpayer might appear thereat end be heard for or against any part of said budget, was published in the official newspaper in all respects as required by law; and =.- ;REA.S, the City Council did on the 5th day of October, 1942, meet in the Council Charter for said purpose and did from day to day continue the hearing on said budget to the 9th day of October , 1942, for the purpose aforesaid, and having heard all persons appearing in favor of or against said proposed tax levy, did then and there make , determine and decide the amount of' taxes to be placed upon the current assessment roll to be in the sum of' - 352,555.43. NOW, THEREFORE, TFE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: The t there be , and hereby is levied upon any real and personal property in the City of Everett, subject to taxation therein a general property tax for munic ipal purposes for the ensuing ye ar coalmen sing on January 1 , 1943, in the sum of 0352,555.43.
