AN ORDINANCE providing for an additional emergency expenditure to cover civilian defense expense end other expense caused by war emergency for the months of September, October, November and December 1942 , a s follows: For Salaries 500 .00 For medical supplies including drugs, first aid kits, lamps, bedding, etc . , and f or office equipment a nd supplies and for othe r equipment to be used by the different unit s 1473.51 For the purpose of covering a.n overdraft or deficit in the fund as of august 31 , 1942 — a 526.49 Total 72500.00 and declaring an emergency. THE CITY OF E`J KETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That a public emergency exists and the amount of the expenditure the refor could not have been reasonably foreseen at the time of making the budget for the year 1942, to-wit: In October 1941, said emergency being caused by the war emergency, and said expenses herein provided for being necessary for civilian defense and other expenditures in connection with the war emergency. Section 2 : That by reason of such emergency the following expenditures and expenses are necessary, to -wit: For salaries 500 .00 For medical supplies including drugs, first aid kits, lamps , bedding , etc . , and for office equipment and supp lie s and for othe r equ iprnt to b e used by the different units 1473.51 For the purpose of covering an over- draft or deficit in the fund as of August 31, 1942 526 .49 Total t: 2500.00 Section 3 : That there is hereby appropriated out of the General Current Expense Fund of Everett , not otherwise budgeted, for the purpose of paying the expenses above referred to, in the amounts above set forth, in the total sum of 2500 .00 which sum shall be paid by urrent LXssuseCeun by of �thenproperrants drawn on such General officers of the City of Everett as provided by law.
