The project addressed replacement of the existing concrete boat ramp
and boarding float with a new ADA compliant HDPE float system utilizing state of the art
materials that are better designed for a float that frequently grinds on concrete during tidal
fluctuations. The project also replaced the high-pressure sodium lighting fixtures with energy
conserving LED technology fixtures and repaired the asphalt within the parking lot including
sealing cracks throughout the facility and sealcoating the entire parking lot and boat launch,
restriping parking and traffic control lines, and new ADA vehicle & trailer parking.
Adjustments to the contract amount were necessary to correct unforeseen conditions and
oversights identified in the original plans and specifications. All work has been completed to the
satisfaction of the Parks and Facilities Department.
Recommendation (exact action requested of Council):
Adopt an Ordinance to amend and close a special improvement project entitled "Rotary Park
Renovation", Fund 354, Program 072, as established by Ordinance No.3821-21.
