Council previously allocated ARPA dollars as the source of funds under Resolution
7817 to fund design. Council also previously approved funding Ordinance 3906-22 which funded
the project. Source of funds for the project will be paid from Fund 342, Program 35 (CIP-1). The
estimated design cost is not to exceed $400,000.
Project summary statement:
The City of Everett intends to remodel the Culmback Building in order to relocate the Everett
Police Department Evidence Room out of its currently leased space in the Everett Medical and
Dental building downtown. The move to the City owned Culmback building will alleviate
approximately $124,200 in lease payments annually and provide a much more improved working
environment for City employees.
The scope of service includes complete design services for the approximate 21,000 SF building.
The proposed remodel will allow for storage of evidence, creation of office space, evidence
examination space and long-term archival storage. Upon completion of the design work, Parks &
Facilities staff will return to Council to amend the Ordinance for construction.
Recommendation (exact action requested of Council):
Authorize the Mayor to sign a professional service agreement with H2D Architecture
and Design to provide architectural and engineering services for the Culmback Building
Police Property Room Relocation.
