These <br /> comments address building issues only. Additional revisions or additions may be required by other <br /> departments such as Utilities, Planning or Fire. All references refer to the 2015 International Building <br /> Code (IBC), 2015 International Residential Code (IRC), as amended by the State of Washington <br /> and/or Washington State Energy Code (WSEC) 2015 Edition, as adopted by the City of Everett, <br /> unless stated otherwise. <br /> In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to provide <br /> the Building Division with two new complete sets of drawings reflecting the corrections <br /> requested. <br /> Construction documents shall be of sufficient clarity to indicate the location, nature <br /> and extent of the work proposed and show in detail that it will conform to the <br /> provisions of the building code and relevant laws, ordinances, rules and regulations. <br /> 1. Provide the size species and grade of the beam supporting the existing roof over the <br /> openings into the new Living Room addition. <br /> 2. Provide Smoke Alarms in each sleeping room and in the corridor or area giving access to <br /> each separate sleeping area and on each story. Smoke alarms shall be hard-wired and <br /> interconnected per section R314 IRC. Show on plans throughout the entire dwelling. <br /> 3. Provide minimum 36 inch landing measured in the direction of travel at all entrance/exits. <br /> Show on plans. <br /> 4. Section B on sheet 2 should show the new beam supporting the existing roof structure. <br /> 5. Washington State Energy Code requires R-10 rigid insulation in headers in exterior walls, <br /> show requirement on plans. <br /> 6. Provide #4 rebar stubbed out at not more than 18 inches on center at concrete porches to <br /> resist differential settling.
