AN OI'_DINANCE providing for submission to the qualified electors of the City of Everett at a special election to be held in the City of Everett on the 8th day of September, 1942, of a. proposed ordinance providing for fixing minimum monthly salaries for first-class patrolmen in the Police Department of the City of Everett, and fixing the minimum monthly salaries of firemen in the Fire Department of the City of Everett who have served Four (4) years or more for the City of Everett to $185.00 per month; pro- viding the form of ballot to be used at said election. requesting the Election Board of Snohomish County, Washington, to call and hold said election, and declaring an emergency. WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the City of Everett submitting to the City Council of the City of Everett a proposed ordinance providing for fixing minimum monthly salaries for first- class patrolmen in the Police Department of the City of Everett, and fixing the minimum monthly salaries of firemen in the Fire Department of the City of Everett who have served Four (4) years or more for the City of Everett ; and D• +AS, it appears that said petition contained the nai'es of qualified electors of the City of Everett equal to more than Fifteen percent (15%) of the qualified electors of Ithe City of Everett voting at the last preceding general municial election; _ . d WIREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett has failed to pass said ordinance.
