ORDINANCE No. 2- ? `� g AN ORDINANCE submitting t o the qualified electors of the City of Everett the proposition of authorizing the levying of a tax upon the real and personal property in said City for the year 1943 of two mills in addition to the fifteen mills and other levies authorized by Chapter 2, Laws of 1939 of the State of Washington, for the purpose of providing funds for paying the increased salary of each of the officers and employees of the City of Everett , except elective officers, in the sum of 320 .00 per month, beginning on the 1st day of Ja.nuE ry , 1943; providing the form of ballot to be used at said election; requesting the Election Board of Snohomish County, Washington, to call and hold said election, and declaring an emergency. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That there sha ll be submitted to the qualified electors of Everett the proposition of authorizing said City to levy for the year 1943 on all taxable property within said City a tax of two mills in addition to the fifteen mills levy, and other levies authorized by Chapterr2 of the Laws of 1939 of i193eaofd; the State of Washington, for the purpose of payingho salary of each of the employees and officers of the City of Everett, except elective officers , in the sum of $20 .00 per month, beginning on January 1, 1943, at a special election to be held in the City of Everett, said election to be held in the City of Everett on Tuesday, the 8th day of Sept ether, 1942. Section 2 : That the form of ballot to be used at said election shall be as follows: EVERETT PROPOSITION No. 2: Shall the City of Everett be authorized to levy for the year 1943 a tax of two mills in addition to the fifteen mills and other levies authorized by Chapter 2, Laws of 1939 of the State of Washington, for the purpos e of pro vi d ing funds for the payme nt of the increased salary of each of the employees and officers of the City of Everett, except elective officers, in the sum of $20.00 per month, beginning January 1, 1943?
