. t <br /> ORDINANCE No. <br /> 2939 . <br /> AN ORDINANCE providing for an emergency expenditure <br /> to cover cost of salaries in the General Current Expense Fund <br /> in the sum of 910 .56 , said sum being in addition to the amount <br /> provided in the budget and in addition to the appropriation <br /> made in Ordinance NO. 2935 of the City of. Everett , and declaring <br /> an emergency. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That a public emergency exists and the <br /> amount of the expenditure therefor could not have been foreseen <br /> at the time of the making of the budget for the year 1941, to-wit : <br /> in October 1940 . That said emergency exists by reason of the fac <br /> that it was necessary in connection with Eocal Improvement <br /> District improvements to employ additional help in the Engineer- <br /> ing Department, and in connection therewith it was necessary to <br /> expend the sum of 4910 .56 for salaries in said department in <br /> addition to the amount provided in the budget and in addition to <br /> the amount appropriated in Ordinance No. 2935 of the City of Everett. <br /> Section 2: That there is hereby appropriated out of <br /> the General Current Expense Fund, not otherwise budgeted, the sum <br /> of 4910.56, for the purpose of paying additional salaries in said <br /> department , which sum shall be paid by the issuance of emergency <br /> warrants drawn on said Ci.tyGeneral Current Expense Fund by the <br /> proper officers of the City of Everett as provided by law. <br /> Section 3: That the expenditure herein provided for <br /> in the amount herein set forth be, and the sane is hereby <br /> ratified, approved and confirmed. <br /> Section 4: An emergency is declared to exist and <br /> this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publicatio . <br /> —_- _-_-_-_-__--Mayor <br /> Attest: <br /> City Clerk <br /> Passed: Jan. 13 , 1942 . <br /> Published: Jan. 15, 1942. <br />
