• • ' J ORDINANCE No. 2931 . .AN ORDINANCE levying the general taxes of the City of Everett for the fiscal year commencing January 1 , 1942, on all taxable property, both real and personal, in said City subject to taxation thereon, for the purpose of raising sufficient revenue to carry on the different departments of said city for the ensuing year, as required by the Charter of said City and the laws of the State of -lashin .ton, prescribing and apportioning the same to the different funds of said city for said fiscal year, and providing for the collection thereof. WHEREAS, on the 12th day of aeptember, 194i, the City Council of the City of Everett did duly and regularly adopt the estimate of the amounts required to meet the }public expense of said City for the ensuing year, and the amount to be raised by taxation in said City for said ensuing year from sources other than direct taxation; and 1f1PEJS, notice that said City Council tentatively completed the budget for the City of Everett for the year 194, and that a copy of said budget would be furnished any taxpayer of the City of Everett on application therefor, and that the City Council of said City would meet in the Council Chamber of the City Hall Et 10 :00 o'clock A. II. , on the 6th day of October, 1941, for the purpose of fixing the final budget and designating the tax levy and that any taxpayer might appear thereat and be heard for or against any part of said budget, was published in the official newspaper in all respects as required by law; and WHEREAS, the City Council did on the 6th day of October, 1941 , meet in the Council Chamber for said purpose end did con- tinue the hearing on said budget to the 7th day of October, 1941, for the purpose aforesaid, and having heard all persons appearing in favor of or against any proposed tax levy, and did then and there make and decide the amount of taxes to be placed upon the current assessment roll to be in the sum of308,909.87. N0'1, THEREFORE, `I5:iE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That there be and hereby is levied upon any real and personal property in the City of Everett , subject to taxation thereon, a general property tax for municipal purposes for the ensuing year commencing January 1, 1942 , in the sun of 0308,909.87 . ;section 2: That said taxes shall be apportioned in the various funds of said City as follows:
