March 22, 2023 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., March 22, 2023, <br />President Stonecipher presiding. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Fosse, Rhyne, Vogeli, <br />Zarlingo, and Stonecipher were present. Council Members Tuohy and Schwab were excused. <br /> <br />Council Member Rhyne led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />On behalf of the City Council, Council Member Vogeli acknowledged the original inhabitants of <br />this place, the sduhubš people, and their successors, the Tulalip Tribes. <br /> <br />The minutes of the March 15, 2023, City Council meeting were approved. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR’S COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin commented on her attendance at Yale University’s Mayor’s College last week. <br />She also stated the first Pride Block Party will be hosted by the City on June 17. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Zarlingo, seconded by Council Member Vogeli, to concur with the <br />following appointment: <br /> <br /> Planning Commission <br />• McKenzie Sullivan, Pos #4 – term expiring 12/31/2028 <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes except Council Members Schwab and Tuohy, <br />who were excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br />Mayor Franklin also stated that overnight a police officer was shot while investigating a robbery <br />and is currently in stable condition. She provided an overview of the Snohomish County <br />Multiple Response Team (SMART), who investigates law enforcement serious use-of-force <br />incidents. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
