Replacement and improvements are needed to <br />ensure reliable WPCF operations and flow control. The TFI Bar Screen Upgrades Project <br />includes the rehabilitation of the secondary clarifier bypass structure and the installation <br />of a permanent bypass pipeline and structure to bypass the existing Trickling Filter bar <br />screens. <br />Bids were opened on March 14, 2023 with 2 bids received for the construction of the <br />proposed project. McClure and Sons Inc. submitted the lowest responsive bid in the <br />amount of $2,275,712.49, including sales tax. The Engineer's Opinion of Probable <br />Construction Cost was $1,700,000 including sales tax. Public Works staff recommends <br />that McClure and Sons Inc. be awarded the construction contract for the WPCF TFI Bar <br />Screen Upgrades Project in the amount of $2,275,712.49 <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Award the Contract for the WPCF TFI Bar Screen Upgrades Project to McClure and Sons <br />Inc. in the amount of $2,275,712.49, which includes Washington State Sales Tax. <br />
